Mohican Bluegrass Festival 2024

Thursday – Saturday, September 12-14, 2024

(2025 Mohican Bluegrass festival Sept. 11-13, 2025)

Join us for our 33rd Annual Mohican Bluegrass Festival, this September. This family event offers every one of all ages the opportunity to venture out to Mohican Wilderness Campground for this outdoor festival. The grand log stage is settled in the valley along the Mohican River.

Although picnic tables and benches are present in the stage area, lawn chairs are highly recommended to keep you comfortable. Food vendors on-site, coolers welcome. Craft vendors on site and plenty of recreation in camp to help keep the kiddos entertained.

Camping is SOLD OUT. Camp nearby at one of the many beautiful campgrounds along the scenic Wally Road and enjoy the same weekend amenities as our onsite guests (weekend tickets, car pass to come and go as you please; food vendors, free parking, etc.).

FREE parking for weekend campers and day visitors. Accessible parking and port-a-pots available in the stage area.  Craft and food vendors onsite at the stage area. Kids (17 and under) are free.  Pets are permitted in the festival’s perimeter and must be leashed, calm and quiet.

Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE. Campsite payments are refundable up to August 17, 2024 with a $10 cancellation fee. Tickets purchased in advance will not be mailed but will be held at will-call and a wristband issued upon check-in. Wristbands are required to be worn and are required for re-entry. Those who do not have a wristband upon re-entry will be subject to purchasing a ticket.

BLUEGRASS JAM CLASS
Our festival is stepping it up again this year with free 2-hour Wernick Method Bluegrass Jam Workshops hosted by Fred Saunton and George Welling.  They have been holding classes in central Ohio for four years and they are quite popular.  Even if you’re never jammed before, Fred and George will get you going, playing real bluegrass (at slow speeds).

All instruments and all skill levels are welcome.  the only requirement to participate is the ability to change chords smoothly between G, C, D, and A (basses and fiddles need to know which notes go with which chords).  Fast playing and the ability to solo are not required.  You will be jamming in the first session!

Advance registration for both sessions is offered at no cost.  Advance registrations will be sent a full packet of bluegrass jamming study material.  On-site registration is also an option for each session.  A hard copy of study materials will be provided to each student.  Spectators are also welcome to listen from as close as space around the class permits.
